Spotlight Hobbies

Well folks, you are looking at the elephant in the room. The computer with its vast advantages in size and number of pictures, same day coverage of events, online special interests interaction with other likeminded folks, product purchases without driving to the nearest

town big enough to keep a hobby shop in business, videos of How To virtually any aspect of modeling, etc. Sad to see them go, but I guess it is inevitable. At least the big shows and competitions as well as local area clubs are still on a personal basis, but but basically the magazines and local hobby stores are not serving the same role they once did. Folks do not hang out in the aisles of the big box stores to congregate with fellow modelers. They do what we are doing, hanging out with others, even some from around the world, for that. I still subscribe, though. But, like many here I am from a different era than the present. ;^)
