Folks were talking earlier down the board about magazines and in amongst those comments was a post about model car prices. So that got me curious.

Just for kicks and giggles, what is the most you remember paying for a kit?

A few years back, I bought a Tamiya 1/12 Ferrari 641/2 (or F190, as it's also known as). With shipping from Japan and the exchange rate, I paid just a bit over $200.00CDN. I went a bit overboard in the aftermarket, though. Photoetch, cast metal, resin, new decals. All told I'm into this kit for about $1,000.00CDN. No, that's not a typo...One Thousand dollars!!

I bought the pieces and parts over time so it didn't seem so bad but once I sat and totaled it up? Let's just say it's a good thing I'm single!
