Galaxie Geekery - again... '64 Modified Stocker

Well, kids, our man Goldman must have been over at the Great Peoples Collective Tool and Die Shop shop in East Chopstick Province, waving around the die grinder again.

Following the precedent set by the '69 Galaxie and '57 T-Bird, they knocked out the gates in the Mod Stocker tool to produce even more Genuine Ford goodness. Aside from the highly bashable GN racing contents that work with slight mods in ANY '60-64 Ford or '61-64 Merc, R2 has seen fit to include the stock front seats, rear seat and XL convertible boot (!) in the tool. This is in addition to a number of the custom items from the original '64 annual, including the Olds grille, and front custom roll pan. This is in addition to the full set of stock wheel covers.

Whatzit mean? In addition to just needing decals and some PPP wheels and tires from your chosen build era, an evening or two with the files, sandpaper and the body from the Craftsman Plus will get you a very tidy replica of possibly one of the most popular pre-Cup stock cars. Roberts, Lorenzen, Panch, Jarrett... plus all the follow up independents and Permatex competitors.

Likewise, if you want to turn that Craftsman Plus into a "which twin has the Toni?" stock build annual kit replica, light dremel work can free the nicely textured door panels and console from the CP bucket for use in the MS shell. Add them to the MS shell, and other than texturing the floor, you are back in '64. Knock out the molded in hood, and you have all the makings of a "W"- code '64 427 XL 500. Whack the roof and fab the sun visors or use photoetch, and you have a very nice convertible.

For a LR 2X4 intake, carbs and distinctive oval air cleaner, any number of kits will have a good substitute, including the Revell/Atlantis 427 Parts Pack Ford, AMT Silhouette, '69 Torino FB ...

All the more reason to scoop both of them up from Matt and Dawn while you can!
