        • Pretty sure that there was no 454 in 1977.... I suppose that it could get a small block, similar to Ford in the Mustang II. *NM*
          • Did it have to be a "production" engine? Besides, they made 454s up until 2000 for use in trucks. *NM*
            • Yep, then they went to the monster Vortec 8100 (8.1L) after that in the medium duty trucks and the 2500 HD’s. *NM*

      • Thank you.... This is exactly why I was thinking no BB. Sad as it is, the entire automotive world was bogged down by MPG and EPA concerns in the late 1970's.
      • Don Hardy briefly offered a Chevette SWB swap kit, but stopped realizing that was too much motor for the stock body...
      • It was Yenko who got into trouble with the Feds...for dropping an L-88 into a "73 Nova, and sending it to California for a Hot Rod road test.
        • Oops, I just remembered iy was Nickey Chevrolet in Chicago that built the '73 Nova with the L-88. *NM*
      • Well, they could’ve done a Cosworth Chevette using the same twin cam 2.0L that was in the Cosworth Vega. That would’ve been pretty neat. *NM*

          • Although rare, you could get a DOHC 16 valve 135 HP engine in the British Vauxhall Chevette HS. Probably the coolest "Chevette" GM ever made. *NM* *PIC*
