I was considering buying the Buick when new but didn't because it was soon to be an orphan. *LINK*

The beautiful styling and Euro mechanicals from Opel were big plusses as was the relatively narrow width to fit in my garage. Unfortunately, for U.S. customers it was the last Opel to be imported and would have been an instant orphan here. I didn't want to take the risk of parts being difficult or impossible to obtain. I went through that with my first new car, a '72 Opel imported by Buick. For '74 Buick kept the Buick name but sourced it from Japan -- completely different car and parts -- then it was gone from the states. In 1975 I took mine in for a brake job. The mechanic put it on the lift, disassembled it to determine what to order and it took a month to get the parts. Only GM could get them and they had to come from Germany!

So, I bought a new 2019 Subaru Outback and don't regret it.
