This model has been on my to-do list since I was a teenager, but no kit was ever made of it. A few years back Charles Rowley made his International Loadstar which shared the same cab as the Fleetstar. I bought a resin copy of the Loadstar and fabbed up my own Fleetstar hood so I could recreate the truck I photographed way back in the 70's at Hub's SuperValu food store in Munising, Michigan. My build rides on an AMT Ford LNT8000 chassis. Several years ago I built a Ford L9000 with a resin long hood from Plaskit and built it as a late 70's SuperValu tractor. I spruced that build up with matching door logos with the Fleetstar and posed it here for a comparison - you can see just how small the International was compared to the Ford. Pay no mind to the competing brand A&P Foods trailer, I haven't built a SuperValu trailer yet.
