    • Tim.......I was building a 1:1 track roadster in the late 70's using a twin cam Alfa /5speed,glass body & AI nose,sold it unfinished...have you any more pics/info of your model as I'd like to build one of my car as it would have been...yours has Tom Prufers influence...lol. *NM*

          • 1/25.... It was pictured on the box side panel of the originals issue 48 Lincoln, along with the Cord and Suburban, which actually did become kits by Pyro. *NM*
            • So the 1948 Lincoln was a Pyro kit....were the Auburn & Cord also Pyro kits as well dating from the 1950"s?....I always thought they were originally 1960's Lindberg tooling. *NM*
              • Yes, the Auburn and cord were originally Pyro kits. I'm pretty sure that they didn't come into Lindberg's possession until the 1980's. *NM*
                • I wouldn't get too regretful. Neither the Auburn nor the Cord....
                  • I have seen a few decent builds of the Auburn, though they obviously had tons of work put into them... The Cord on the other hand is pretty much unsalvageable. *NM*
              • After closing my shop,Scale Automobilia in March 2016 I hadn't built anything for 4 yrs,a mate asked me to build the 48 Lincoln, just polished the green plastic body & painted the interior...was so pleased at how it turned out I've built over 100 kits since..thanks Lindberg. *NM*
                • The first couple of issues of that Lincoln kit were molded in black plastic, had no plating and came with a driver figure. *NM*
                  • I don't have one but I think getting in that grille with some needle files and making the openings larger would go a long way to improving the looks of the completed kit. , I've always felt the grille was very toylike. *NM*
                    • I agree 100%.... I have seen a couple of very nicely finished examples of the Lincoln and the grilles had been opened up and thinned. It made a huge difference. *NM*
                    • I seem to recall the grille was nice, but molded "backwards". All the contours were on the backside, with the outside basically flat. Or is my memory playing tricks on me again? *NM*
                  • Picked up a disasembled Pyro '48 Lincoln kit yesterday at an IPMS meeting. Molded in black plastic. Was a part of a stash of 'homeless" kits....
                  • I've had two of those Pyro 48 Lincolns, and both were molded in a very dark blue. *PIC*
