An alternative approach I do is paint the panel lines flat black before I do the color coats, it then darkens the lines enough they look like they have depth/shadowing but not such a harsh contrast as painting them afterward *NM* *PIC*

- Smoke is water-based and dries glossy--flat sheen works best for panel lines--creates "depth." *NM*
  - Smoke is an all-over tint that can knock down colors for any number of reasons - chrome that is too bright etc. Panel Line Accent is just that, but also is a wash and Mike Short owes the board pics to show how it's done *NM*

  - Dittos! (Same here.) Nearly always produces a much more believable appearance. *NM*
