As modelers painfully know - that is probably the hardest car to sand and polish of them all, exceeded only by the C3.

Good to see that the rest of the world isn't blowing cars to smithereens to paint them - and that a good quality finish does not mean going to whalebone.

A friend of mine who owned a body shop was a mid-line painter, did a lot of street cars and was direct repair for State Farm. He was solid on the belief that the factory finish was the best primer, and just needed thorough sanding (and priming, and blocking) vs. going to bare metal.
