1943 F-2 Fuel Trailer

Now that the Autocar tractor is done it's time to begin working on a trailer for it to pull. George Patton need fuel for his tanks and this is one of the rigs that supplied it from the beaches of Normandy. It will be a while before anything of significance is done to show but its a start.

I found some frame rails in two used AMK Mack kits to form the fuel trailer frame. They are the right height but not the right stretched Z shape so some cutting is in order. To do the shapes I scanned the page of the tech manual that showed the frame in plan and side views. Using the documented wheel base length from 5th wheel pin to the center of the rear axle, the images were resized to fit. The side view was copied and flipped so that I have a left and right view to copy. More to come as the frame gets built.
