Could also have been a dealer installed option. *NM*

To the best of my knowledge it wasn't available until the1969 model year. Like I said before, if you like the look, do it. The only person you have to please is yourself. :-) *NM*
Just don't paint the scoops black, have them the same color as the hood.. *NM*
Those are 1969-70 scoops. There's a YouTube video where someone goes over another 1968 "tribute" car with those on it (among many other errors), the guy rips the car apart *NM*
