Should drop in, chassis are pretty much the same. Avanti supercharged V8 fits the '53 chassis but the hood won't close over the intake tubes *NM*

Where is the interference - and would that have been the reason for the Hawk raised center 'grille' style hood that came along in '56-7? *NM*
Interference is right where you'd expect it, towards the front of the bulge. I don't think the Hawk hood was dictated by that; didn't it use the Packard V8 the first year? *NM*
Would be a coincidence - I know the Starliner intake was a near thing with the base engine due to low cowl clearance *NM*
