  • In IPMS shows you basically compete against yourself..Cleanliness is the most important thing..If glue blobs on wires your better off not wiring it..Clean build and assembly and paint is what counts at IPMS shows.. *NM*
  • I'm no expert but to me box stock means using anything that comes in the kit,drilling exhausts,trimming window runners & mold lines,cleaning up ejection pin marks,kit decals but would allow BMF...no photo etch, resin or aftermarket parts such as wired distributors. *NM*

      • Depends on the contest. Some will let you use flocking in box stock others will not. hopefully he contest flyer will specify *NM*

  • One thing too is comparing engines with plug wires. Some modern cars do not use plug wires ...
    • There are plug wires, they are just different. Actually, under those tupperware lids are lots more wires and hoses than on any "old" car. I say leave the lid on them and forget about it! *NM*
  • Box stock means just that. You cannot use anything that didn't come in the box and you cannot add anything. You can drill out exhaust tips but you can't add plug wires. *NM*
    • That's what I thought it meant but I am not sure today. A local show recently used the term "OOB" Out of the box.

    • I tried years ago to get a stock kit in as OOB with roll bars made from the parts tree. That didn't fly (I mean, they come in the box, right?) I know...LOL *NM*
