• And Dang! The unthinkable happened. Paint came right off to the plastic when I was putting on Bare Metal. Pics inside.
  • The primer didn't adhere to the plastic. So no matter what you painted on top of ir won't really matter. *NM*
  • That's frustrating. Definitely strip it. Like Bill said, the primer didn't adhere. I could be off here, but I'd think after stripping and cleaning, I'd give it a light scuff. Give the primer something to "bite on to. " *NM*

  • Just had that happen, the paint will continue to flake and scrape off *NM*
  • When you start over you'll have to pay much attention to those area but your going to have sand those edge with harsh sanding stick work your way with lighter sticks. Do the whole car that way. Forget the soaking just sand it and prime and sand. *NM*

  • Thanks guys for the feedback. I think my problem was I sprayed the gold undercoat right on the plastic and didn't lay primer down first. The paint is stripping as I type and will be primed before any color is sprayed. *NM*
