Spotlight Hobbies

I have it, think mine is numbered. Dennis Doty really did a great job in it, I thought

Sorry to see it come and go in one push.

Had a few issues of Thunderbird Illustrated, great magazine, but a narrow audience at that time, even though that end of the hobby was really cooking at the time. There just were not enough advertisers and classifieds to keep the doors open, I'd guess.

Last summer, I tripped over a Classic T-Bird meet in Livonia, MI. Was a treat for me - brought back some memories of my dad we would hit the local shows in Dearborn.

Metro Detroit had/has one of the largest CTCI chapters, but now is a husk of its former self, with at least as many wheelchairs and mobility scooters as cars, no vendors with greasy parts and shaggy dog stories of rickety barns and dusty dealer shelves.

In a few years, the hobby is going to be flooded with 90-point plus '55-66 T-Birds.
