I bought this tool in the early '70s and it's still sold... *PIC*
In Response To: OT...I used to know this but forgot...how do you check if there is a short to ground in car wiring? My brand new battery doesn't like to stay "up" after a week and a half or so. Thanks. *NM* ()

Locates short circuits in 6 and 12V systems right through upholstery, body panels and metal door posts.

Connect tester across burned out fuse.

Move meter along wire routing. Meter needle will oscillate until short is found.
