• Not bashing TD here, but I have a question...........
  • It is the top... The Badman was a reworking of Monogram's very nice '55 Chevy from 1963. *NM*
  • Monogram usually did their stuff very well, but I'm thinking the '55 just didn't do well in its original form...
    • It was in the Monogram catalog for a while before the TD version
      • The original '55 was nice when built as a convertible, but for a drag version everyone wanted a hardtop. Built as a hardtop, it wasn't as good *NM*
        • Agree, the HT and window glass don't look quite right as delivered
  • The Badman was one of the few (only?) TD kit that was a retool...... *PIC*
    • TD reworked the Blue Beetle, Little Deuce, and Little T also *NM*
      • I had forgotten about that.... He was responsible fo the Boss A-Bone, Son Of Ford, and Sweet T, respectively.... I built two of the three as a young teen. *NM*
    • Dave...that is a terrific replica of Hank Borger's "Fantasia" from the cover of Car Model Magazine....I am really impressed (FWIW)....way, way cool. TB
      • Thanks Tim.......My buddy loves to clone models that were a big impact to him.....he does a excellent job. *PIC*
      • I thought that looked familiar! *NM*
    • They look great! *NM*
  • Are the wheels in the current 'Stars and Stripes' 55 Chevy used in any of the other TD kits? They look familiar... *NM*
    • The mags are carryover from the Badman, the slots are from the street machine issue. The new kit is just both versions in one box *NM*
      • What were the original Badman fronts? Never had the kit... *NM*
        • Re some kind of 5 spoke, I've never been able to ID them in 1:1. Do I remember that one of the re-issues had mis-matched rear wheels? *NM*
          • Rader DBR 990. Commonly known as the "Starfish wheel" They're also used on his "Son of Ford" '32, Tijuana Taxi, Baha Beast, Baha Bomb and a few more. *NM*
            • Thank you for the answer - knew I'd see them somewhere! *NM*
              • An AMT annual kit or two had them. I'm pretty sure the Sonny & Cher Mustang convertible has them too *NM*
                • 66 Mustang annual has them as well. As for Monogram,
                  • Pretty sure the Sweet T has 6 spoke wheels, Dave, but they are very close. *NM*
                    • BTW, they look like the Dragon Wagon [Circus Wagon] has those same 6 spokes. *NM*
                    • I believe you are correct Steve. I've never owned a Swee Tee. They're a bit on the rare and expensive side. *NM*
    • Those wheels were in the Cali Street Vette, red version of the "Poison Pinto" and about 1/2 the "Early Iron" series. *NM*
