• CHASSIS SWAP QUESTION: Wonder if any of the Moebius Ford pick up chassis would work for the AMT '63 Ford F-100. *NM*
  • In theory the 1965 or 1966. In theory. As to how much work would be required. Well……. *NM*
  • Frame probably fits, front suspension is wrong though. Maybe stretch an AMT '53 or Revell '56? *NM*
    • 2X - Twin I Beam was a later development
  • I modified a Mobius chassis for an AMT 1960. *NM*
  • Thanks, folks. Shouldn't an AMT '53 front axle graft to a Moebius chassis? Don't want to stretch the '53 frame...bad idea? *NM*
    • Frame rails should be close (if not the same width). You'll have to get rid of any part of the frame (crossmembers, etc) that go with the Twin I-Beam setup *NM*
  • Tim Boyd did a full article with that conversion a couple of issues ago in FSM *NM*
    • I just searched the FSM archive and couldn't find it - are your sure about the source? *NM*
  • So the unibody trucks had the same frame as the trucks with separate cab and box? I never knew much about Ford trucks of this vintage - great info. *NM*
    • "Unibody" is only a name; those trucks still have a frame. Only change was the bed sides tied to the cab...
