Ad lore:
Chrysler was deeply self conscious about the sheer wierdness of their product line. So, for 1962, they gave the agency the green light to use non-Detroit fashion photographers and let the designers basically run the place.
Their print work and catalogs were outstanding across the Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge spectrum for passenger cars.
Aligning Revell with this work, was, to this marketer, sheer genius on Revell's part. They made the JoHan and AMT efforts look like happy amateurs. Everything about the presentation was A+ work.
Sadly, the superior (and expensive) presentation did not help sales oin 1:1 or 1:25; Chryco went into internal meltdown and resurfaced a much more conservative operation as they hewed to the middle of the road .
