The past several days I've been mostly working on the chassis as it is the most labor-intensive part of the whole build. The kit chassis is a joke and is mostly only good to hold the stock wheels and tires plus the engine. There is no really accurate underhood detailing. Since Plemi is very far from stock I have a lot of latitude here. The entire chassis with the lowered suspension comes from the custom version of the AMT 1957 Chrysler kit. This transplant requires a lot of filing, sanding and finessing to fit into the wagon body and to clear the rear of the interior tub. Most of the work has been concentrated on the very front and rear of the chassis although I have cut down the rear inner fenders as well. Parts-wise the chassis is mostly from the kit although the engine will be the stock vintage Hemi V-8 from the stock pre-dec version of the Chrysler kit. The chassis will be painted flat black for simplicity.
On the interior it will be mostly as it comes although I will be replacing the steering wheel and adding a floor shifter. I am having to cut out the third row seat and flooring to clear the kickup at the rear of the chassis. I will be covering up the opening with a homemade tonneau cover.
The body is mostly stock but I have removed the trim, badges and crank ass'y from the tailgate to give it a much smoother look. The hood will also lose its peak and lettering. I have stripped the chrome from the front grille/bumper ass'y and the rear bumper as they will be painted body color and are already glued in place.
I am still in the early stages of this build and have a long way to go. I haven't decided on colors, wheels and tires.
Plemi is a street, kitbash build based on the Jo-Han 1960 Plymouth station wagon kit with the rest coming from the AMT 1957 Chrysler 300C kits.

I want to thank all of you for taking the time to check out the first installment of this new and, admittedly, strange build.
