  • IIRC, years ago The Model King wanted to re-issue those kits but they found that some of the tooling was missing. *NM*
    • I wonder if there would be any chance that the missing bits might have turned up in the mess of tooling that was purchased. Is it a possibility, or am I holding onto false hopes? *NM*

      • As I heard it, MK wanted to issue three or four of those cars in a set, but one or more could not be found. That, as opposed to parts or tool inserts being lost or damaged *NM*

        • It wasn't modified much, more importantly parts were taken from it for use in another kit *NM*

              • They could practically pantograph the Monogram kit - the engine in the stock and gen II black rat/street machine is exceptionally good
          • Vaguely recall a story, that says the TD Vette chassis wound up in the Miami Vice "Daytona Spyder" kit...or was it the Corvette America kit. *PIC*
            • TD chassis went under the Black Rat '65 fastback. I understand that kit has since been revised, but it probably still has that chassis *NM*
              • Same or similar chassis with a better engine in the Mk. II version
