• Non Mopar guy with a Dodge question. Building a 69 Dodge Super Bee for a friend. Will the Revell 440 6 pack pass for a 383 six pack? *NM*
  • Maybe I have my plug wires crossed. He said it was originally a 383 magnum, but it had a big oval air cleaner. I'm probably misunderstanding something. *NM*
    • 383 never came with a Six-Pack option. But it could have the same oval aircleaner as a 440 Six-Pack, if the 383 also had the Ramcharger ram-air induction system. The 440 Superbee had its own large single scoop on a lift-off fiberglass hood. *NM*
      • I seem to remember the Direct Connection catalog offering a B-engine Six Pack manifold back in the day, so a 383 Six Pack would be possible…

      • Thanks guys! I may have figured it out. I've attached sine pics. I think it's a huge air cleaner on a 4bbl. 2 hood scoops. Can anyone tell me what these wheels are called and where I might source them? Feel free to correct my engine info. Thank you
        • American "Torq-Thrust II" wheels. They are al over the place in the real world and model world. That Super Bee has the 383 with the Ramcharger system scoops/airceaner. There is also a lot of underhood ducting. *PIC*

            • I think a couple Revell kits had nice Torq-Thrust IIs that were not too oversize in them. The Alternomad Caprice, and others. But check the wheel diameter and tire sizes... they may not be what you want. *NM* *PIC*
              • The revell 32 ford kits, Roadster, 3W & 5W Coupes, Tudor & Finks Speedwagon all have those wheels. *NM*
                • Those are the Torque-Thrust "D", an earlier style. The TTIIs are all polished and have a thinner rim (hoop) and more curvature to the spokes *NM*

                    • I think those are 16" or 17". The Revell Tweedy Pie (last issue only) included two nice ones. But that kit is hard to find now, and if Atlantis has it they probably don't have the parts Revell tooled for that last issue *NM*
        • The best source for American Racing Torq Thust II wheels in 1:24-scale is the japanese company Asuka’s line of “Orange Wheels”. Available in both plated and unplated form they offer you the option of three different offsets. *NM*
