We have an ancient Canon inkjet multi-function printer/scanner that underwent a repair over 10 years ago that exceeded its original cost (!) but nothing else on the market had all the same features.

Not betting it to go many more years before expiring. When it does, I'd want to get something that would suit the hobby as well as home office needs.

I recall lasers being touchy from my work days (now, 15 years ago...) hoping that home color units are fairly stable platforms now.
