• So, how many variations of the original MPC hollow vinyl tires WERE there?
  • Probably retooled a bunch of times...
    • I'm about 90% certain that the minor size differences are due to shrinkage. Seems like the older they get, they lose a little bit in size.
      • With these tires, yes they sometimes differ a bit, but there are three distinct "sizes". The treaded NASCAR tires sometimes differ in size too *NM*
        • You want tires that differed with each retooling (and there are many!) try matching up AMT Trophy Series stock tires *NM*
          • Found a raritiy in the bag - hollow vinyl with "MPC" branding on the sidewall (!) something new every day it seems! *NM*
            • No knowledge of what those came in, but I'd bet on something very early. Mako Shark maybe? *NM*
              • I've seen them in the original Monkeemobile. *NM*
    • A few of them look like they would be just right for a mid-60s GN / Permatex build

      • I've got them on my Buck Baker '65 Olds. Those aren't modified (other than sanding the tread) but smoothing the sidewalls and more aggressive sanding of the tread makes those tires look way different *NM*
