In Response To: Yes, Like Mark said, the '80/'81 hood seems to have been lost in the shuffel. If you want a factory stock '81 Z you'll need a hood and stock wheels ,, and a small block 4BBL. The kits have always had an incorrect big block. '72 was the last year for a factory big block. *NM* ()

A good friend of mine helped a neighbor of his with his new (then) '79 Z28 - wanted to know what he could do to give it some more oomph.

Said neighbor was bucks up - and not overly concerned about warranty.

Tailpipe sniff was not a thing in Michigan until a few years later.

Bought a crate LS6 from Berger in Grand Rapids and after a bit of effort, had it in the Z28 (practically a bolt in from infrastructure standpoint) and running right away.

Was the quickest car in town for quite a while, no idea what happened to it.
