• 1972 NASCAR Ray Williams #47 car revisited. I didn't like how high the rear of the car was after final assembly, so I lowered it. I really wish that the kit supplied tires were larger. I don't have any larger tires in my stash. .......... *PICS* ..........

    • The problem with these old MPC NASCAR kits is the way the front and rear suspensions are made. There is room for a wider wheel/tire for the rear, but not the front because of the way the front suspension and spindles are made. A wider wheel/tire cannot be put on front..*PIC*
      • Got it - might need tweaking a touch but you are getting them to look pretty good out of the box *NM*
      • The front track is a lot wider than the rear. You will probably need to get "creative" with how the wheels are mounted. Or maybe find wheels with more back spacing. There IS a way to fix this! *NM*
        • Ditch the thick inner wheel and mounting disc (use a ring instead), file the back of the wheel a bit thinner, and shorten the mounting pin on the spindle. There's room to work there *NM*

      • Re:That comes from those chassis being altered for the early 1980s Southern Stockers bodies, they made the suspension and rear axle wider. *NM*
