the collection based on changing interests and what I saw myself actually completing..........selling off "late model" kits, all of the kits that did not keep me stoked, or kits that required a ton of bare metal foil work. Doing this allowed me to keep it fun even though I still did not manage to get much built since then. The collection grew yet again (don't know how many kits off the top of my head) and the last time (around 5 years ago) I sold nearly everything off again in order to funnel the money into my 1:1 car which I hoped would net me more return in the "fun factor" area and a return on my money. Model kits sitting on the shelf not being built only tied up your money and were a daily reminder that you were not touching them. I now have 25 kits in my stash and am quite content whether they get built or not. My 1:1 car had around $6,000 dumped into it and increased in value and appearance..........win win the way I see it.
