From what I recall, the Volare/Aspen platform did not support dual exhausts, which were a crucial component of the original 'E58 powertrain. I'm no expert on Mopar post 1974, but it is possible they used E58 order code for the milktoast A/V 360 4bbl , but it would not ..

...have been an engine with the same specs as the 1974-76 E58 and the modified version of same in the Little red wagon truck 1978/79.

I'd love to see some documentation on the point that tthe Police Cars might have used the original E58 configuration, along with the net horsepower rating of same. Remember that the original 19[74 E58 was rated at 245 net hp (equivalent to about 305-315 hp under the old gross hp formula used prior to 1972).

Again, don't have the sources in front of me, but I believe the max rating of any civilian A/V 360 was about 190 net hp - big difference between that and 245.

Anyone with solid documentation on this, either agreeing with or contradicting me, please weigh in. Anxious to learn more on this...TB
