Before I moved to Dallas in 95, I would buy a kit and build it and repeat. When I got to DFW I joined a club and realized you could legally have more than one model at a time. Well over the next 7 or 8 years those 2 models grew to over 500. Then in the mid 2000s we lost one of our club members and he had over 10,000 unbuilt kits and resin and decals and everything you can imagine. I saw how much of a hassle it was for his relatives to get rid of all that stuff and I made a decision that I wasn't going to make my wife go thru that. So I started selling off my stash. By 2011 I was down to 114 unbuilts. I moved to San Antonio and after 9 years moved back to DFW carrying 117 unbuilt kits. So, I didn't do too good in those years. With more discipline than I thought I had, I've limited my purchases and concentrated on building and whittled down that number to 11 kits in Jan and have only purchased 4 kits this year and then came June 28th. The last piece was glued to my final kit. I was done. It was a great feeling of relief. Now I am not saying I am done building model cars. Whatever one I am working on when I die will be coming in the casket. Just in case they bury me alive, I will have something to do. Anyway on the wonderful day in June I was strutting around the house telling my wife and son that I was total out of kit to build. My son gets up and heads back to his bedroom and returns in a few minutes with a box that looked a lot like a model kit. He said here you go. I had given him the kit a few years back, but he never built it so there it was in my hands. Well, here I present it to you that kit finished. No bragging or strutting, just here is another build.
