Good to know. I might re-think buying one. *NM*

That "gold" clearcoat can usually be removed with a 5 second soak in alcohol. I've done that a couple times already with the 80's Monogram "gold plating" *NM*

New kits from Round 2. *NM* *LINK*
I'll be grabbing the Mr Speed Studebaker, a couple of thr 32 Chevys, and probably the Firebird F/C (A nice kit... Too bad that they mucked it up with the gold plating... That just looks cheap and cheesy, IMHO) *NM*
I feel you on the Firebird F/C. I'm gonna get me 2, 1 to build (stripping that gold chrome and spraying it with a chrome), the other I'm gonna keep for a much later date. I'll definitely be grabbing a Mr Speed kit, too. *NM*
The kit will probably reappear in a year or two, with other decals and regular chrome. The gold looks good on this version *NM*

I have a thing for the Monogram T kits, so I figured I'd stop passing them up because of the "gold" chrome if it was removable. No guarantee it will will work on the new Round2 stuff, but I know it works on the 80's Monogram stuff *NM*
