...as I recall, Black Rat was issued because Monogram didn't initially get licensing for the Stingray TV show. They ultimately did, and did issue the Corvette as that. But the Black Rat seems to have been popular in its own right.
From what I have seen, those are pretty decent kits...but I'm way too invested in the AMT and MPC kits of the same subject matter...
