  • On page 33, top left caption tells about Don Graham and his "long running magazine Custom and Hot Rod Models." I don't recall ever hearing of his publication. Anyone subscribe/purchase his magazine? *NM*

    • Haven't seen a new Collectible Automobile magazine issue at Barnes & Noble in Texas since February. April and June has since come out according to their website. I emailed them for a response. *NM*
      • I've been a subscriber almost from day one, I've been getting my copies on time. Haven't been in a Barnes & Noble recently, but around here that's probably where I'd have to go to buy a copy in person *NM*

          • Jason...thats not good re CA not being sold at newstands no longer....I've been waiting for the April issue here in Oz, have every issue since May 1984, #1....have just taken out a sub again but will have to find April/June & August '26.....not happy....lol. *NM*
          • That's a bummer. I used to pick up an issue now and again but rarely go to a bookstore these days. It's always been a great magazine but unfortunately, it will probably be a matter of time before it goes under. *NM*
            • They've probably got enough subscribers to not bother with "newsstand" sales. Not many bookstores left, supermarkets around here no longer stock any magazines except the "home" or "lifestyle" ones at the checkout *NM*

          • Car enthusiast magazines have been dying for years. Remember in 2019 when TEN killed off 19 of 22 publications? Others have quietly gone since. *NM*
            • And of the three "survivors", only two are left now. Four Wheeler died a year or so leter, leaving just Hot Rod and Motor Trend...both on reduced print schedules. *PIC*

                • Think you have it backwards--McMullen and Argus were already part of Primedia, later Source Interlink, when it went for Petersen. *LINK*
                  • Guess it depends who was telling the story, Petersen had 10X the subscribers. Regardless, as indpenendent mags, they were profitable

      • Issue 227 came out about 12-13 months ago... Sadly, I've pretty much written off getting the last four issues on my subscription. ☹️ *NM*
        • I got my issues of Model Cars from a couple of swap meet vendors in recent years. One stoppped coming to contests, and the other (based out of Houston) seems to have stopped carrying MC. *NM*
        • That was the last issue I received also. Tried logging on to my account but don't remember my acct number. Supposedly they will email it but it has been 10 hrs now and nothing. Guess we have another dead magazine! *NM*
