McMullen/Yee Publishing was, to some people, in a death spiral that started when Tom McMullen and his wife died in that plane crash.in 1995. Yee, IIRC, was a Taiwanese-American (or first-gen American born...I didn't look) businessman who died of cancer, a year to the day later, IIRC.

Never heard what was up/down at Argus. Surely Pete Pesterre's death (dirt bike accident in '94 or '93) didn't take the company down. K-III (later known as Primedia) got them in '95, according to the linked history.
