I was at the SVRA Brickyard Vintage weekend, also included new Trans Am races. This was my first visit to Indy for a race, although I had been to the museum a few times. I had a media credential which allowed me to get a little closer to the cars. I also got invited into many of the garages. I took some videos and about 1,200 photographs. The grandstands are mountainous! From the Mock Grid area, I could only see one turn and not the other at the end of ther 3,300 foot straight. I walked through the paddock for four days, up and down the grid a few times, into the grandstands over the pits and put about 20 miles on my shoes. I was told I was allowed to go to the outside grandstand and climb to the top to take photographs. Nope, not me. I didn't have a sherpa with me. I did count the rows of seats...48...times a few feet per level, nope. :( I am also not climbing Everest. I did take a break and go inside the museum to cool off. So...grab a drink, put on your headphones, listen to the sounds (no electric racers here) and enjoy :)
