Yes, there were Omaha Orange Chargers done in 1968 as a promotion for the Cincinnatti Bengals. Three reportedly survive. (pic) *LINK*

I seem to recall that there were some Omaha Orange (Chargers?) Mopars ordered in 1969 as a promotion for some football team or something. So many little bits of information I've taken in over the years I'm now having trouble keeping it straight. lol

I want to build a 1969 Dart GTS in orange. I have seen 1969 Chargers and RR's in 999 orange, but not V2 hemi orange. I haven't seen any 69 Darts in any orange. Could you get a Dart in 999 orange or V2 hemi orange ? .......... *PICS* .....
According to paintref.com you could get a '69 Dart in V2 or 999 Orange... *LINK*
Awesome. Thank you for posting that. BTW, I just found a 1969 Swinger 340 on Google with a fender tag that say's V2 for the color. I'm going to do 999 as per your link answer. Thanks again. *NM*
But, what color is "999"? It could be anything, AFAIK. Just use V2 Hemi Orange, as it was definitely available. *NM*
I seem to recall at least some 1969 Mopars with 999 being painted “Omaha Orange” but whatever that was is a mystery to me. And as you say, 999 paint code was used for ‘anything’, so… *NM*
“Omaha Orange” was a "fleet" color, often used on trucks *NM*
Interesting. Maybe that would have made it an easy pick for a run of orange cars. *NM*
Some dealer group may have put together a bunch of "special edition" cars. That color is popular with rodders; looks good, easy to get, easy to touch up and match *NM*

Here's a couple for you...
That's news to me. There was a popular color for 1969 Barracudas called "Barracuda Orange" which was actually R4 red. This was a 1968 1/2 Charger color that was carried over for 1969 and was available on the Dart Swinger and Barracuda A-bodies. As with all....
V2 was a spring of 69 release. *NM*
By the way, didn’t the “999” code just indicate a special order colour? Not specifically one colour, like orange. For example the 1968 Petty Blue Roadrunners had a 999 paint code. *NM* *LINK*
I also anecdotally recall reading about some applications of “Panther Pink” and “Plum Crazy” in year models after they were considered officially available. Those cars had 999 paint codes as well. *NM*
Yes...that is correct. TB
Of interest to Scott re: 1969 Dart orange *NM* *LINK* *PIC*
Thanks for that, Mark. Thought I already had all those 1969 Mopar Paint memos, but do not recall that one. All - this is from an unimpeachable source IMHO...TB *NM*
Thanks Tim! :) *NM*
