I present my sixth build based on a 2CV. On completion of my 2CV rally car I wanted to build a pickup. However, what I found is that the kits for the pickup are very expensive, nearly $200. However, the van versions share much of the same parts. So, I ordered one. It turns out it was an easy conversion. The hard part was creating the back of the cab. The rest was just removing the top half of the van body.
Having done some research for the Rally version of the 2CV that I built. I discovered that rally trucks were a thing. So, it was natural to build one using the 2CV pickup. There's even a rule in the rule books. T5.3 Trucks. Entered as competitors but primarily used to assist other teams. They carry spare parts, tools, and mechanics, and can leave the race route to repair vehicles during timed stages, taking advantage of rules allowing competitor-to-competitor support.
Sadly I didn’t take any in process pix but here is the finished project.
