New build off of the bench. 1970 Duster 340 in Moulin Rouge. .......... *PICS* .....
Color looks dead-on to my eye, Scott.... Throw on a set of Keystone Classics and I'd cruise that beauty all day long. *NM*
BEAU-TI-FUL Work.... In HS I had a 70 340 I loved that car. *NM*
Sweet build, Scott! You have a talent for building models of cars I would like to drive!
Wow! I like it! *NM*
You did good Scott!! *NM*
You are the Graveyard Cars of miniature Mopars *NM*
Nice work Scott.....here in Oz that colour on the Oz 1972/73 Valiant Charger was called Magenta........not as good as the US names......lol. *NM*
I've seen it called "Penta Magenta", but that might have been a Canadian thing. *NM*
There were no special Canadian names for 1970/71 FM3. Officially it is: US or Canada Dodge = Panther Pink , US or Canada Plymouth = Moulin Rouge , Chrysler Australia = Magenta *NM*
Okay, how about other High Impact colours? I’ve seen references to “Ultra Violet” and “Super Yellow” in Canadian sales literature. I don’t see references to these colour names in American sources. Any thoughts on that? *NM*
I think most of the time the U.S. and Canada used the same color codes and names. Australia is sometimes unique. FC7 was Plum Crazy on Dodges, and In-Violet on Plymouths in the U.S. and Canada, and Australia. But Australia also had their
So Bill.....if I can find any info....I have a heap of original sales brochures somewhere......lol.......can I then pack some extra US mopars into that container you're sending?........lol. *NM*
I'd have to check the inventory first. But sure! *NM*
FWIW, here's the colour chart from the 1970 Canadian Dodge dealer data book. There are some notable variations from US, but pink is not on it, presumably because it was added later in the model year. *LINK* *PIC*
That's interesting Mark. Thanks. *NM*
Thought you might like to see this! 🙂 *NM*
Another interesting thing to note is that there is only one “Lime Green” on there. Whether it is Sublime or Greengo is not clear due to the scan colour variations. The tale of two ‘70 Swingers:
The code "FJ5" tells the story, which is what we in the U.S. call "Lime Light" on '70 Plymouths or just "Lime" on '70 Dodges. *NM* *PIC*
Dodge also called FJ5 "Sublime". Still all the same color. *NM*
I’m aware of the paint codes on the fender tags and the difference in names between Dodge and Plymouth in the US. What I am saying is that there were two different lime greens, the second being FJ6 Greengo (Dodge) and Sassy Grass Green (Plymouth)…
Nice one, Scott! I want to build a ‘70 340 Duster someday…I remember seeing one…
Where did the paint come from? It looks perfect to me. *NM*
Hi Bill. The paint is from Scalefinishes. I buy all of my factory colors for bodies and engines from Scalefinishes. I buy their basecoat which requires a clearcoat to be sprayed over the color. *NM*
Thanks Scott. *NM*

Another fine build Scott. Very nice sir. *NM*
Very clean build, esp in the motor compartment. *NM*
Nicely done, especially that engine bay! *NM*
