Every rare once and a while a new project of mine is born out of gathering parts for another project. Such is the case with Project Stepper. *LINK*

While hunting up parts for my Project Slixty-Seven I discovered that I had enough parts to create another model using some parts that haven't been seen in over 40 years.
I decided to build a model using the bed from the MPC long bed, stepside Chevrolet pickup kit combined with the (modified as required) chassis from the latest reissue of the 1972 pickup in the Coca-Cola series and the GMC cab from the AMT short box, stepside kit originally from the 1970s. The chassis is painted flat black for simplicity.
The bed is straight from the MPC but with the GMC tailgate from the AMT kit. The interior is from the GMC kit but I added a floor console from an MPC 1979 Chevy pickup kit plus a steering wheel and column from my stash. I don't know what kits those items are from. The console fit perfectly with no modifications. The interior is painted Duplicolor metallic red over gray primer and overcoated with Tamiya clear flat.
The bed mounted sort-of sleeper/cargo box comes from the MPC Rolling Thunder kit. I am in the process of cleaning up the gaps to make it look smoother. I will be using Micro Liquitape to attach it so I can remove it as I choose.
In essence Stepper is a whole kit-bash model and that is often much more fun to me than just using one main kit.
Stepper is a curbside, light commercial build (auto parts store delivery truck). I am making steady progress although I still haven't decided on wheels and tires.
Still a ways to go here.

I want to thank all of you for taking the time to check out my latest project. I hope some of you like what I am doing here.
