Hey guys, here is a recent cleanup/refurb of an old Doepke metal fire truck.

This was the first "restoration" I did for my brother-in-law and finished it a few weeks ago. This also originally belonged to Roger's dad and he inherited it after he passed. This was mostly a cleanup job but it was definitely a challenge. I used mostly Dawn dish soap and water and used lots of Q-tips and rags to get it done. I used some wax to clean the paint and some Mother's on the ladders and aluminum parts. The bell was in pretty rough shape and I did the best I could to reshape it and get it shiny again. I bought some replacement cord to replace the ladder lines but it didn't work out as well as I had hoped for. I learned a bit about these old metal trucks and am impressed with how well made this one is. My brother-in-law loved it and they were very happy with my work. Here are some pictures before and after.

Thanks for looking and I would appreciate any comments and suggestions. Have a good weekend!
