The pitch meetings must have been something in those days ...

Not unfamiliar with the syndrome - big company needs to placate dealers and distributors with new product/campaign right away.

Insists that old ways (time prior to most recent unfavorable sales report) are not working, holds up one example of 'new' thinking from competitor, says we can beat these guys with one hand behind our back.

"Want to see ideas Monday, don't come empty handed. Save any reciepts from the weekend..."

Wondering who on the staff at AMT / MPC were actual builders of note and came forward with the idea/pitches that got the green light.

I could imagine a scenario where several meetings with no sold-thru contributions might make work pretty uncomforatble, unless you were so freakin' good at something noboby else was they couldn't bomb you out.
