• Thought I'd seen most weird model tooling but the Moebius "65 Chevy 2 Gasser has separate headlight lenses & reflectors,USA cars have had 7" SEALED beams since 1940,I like retro as much as anyone but why Moebius went back to the 1939 design made me smile...& curse...lol. *NM*
  • You can tell the difference in 1/25 scale? (or maybe this is a dumb question) *NM*
    • Has to be in two pieces unlike the real one, unless they could mold the sealed beam unit solid/in clear plastic, then paint the back side chrome silver *NM*
    • I think this is to give a more realistic look than the old chrome plated solid headlights that were the norm in the sixties. *NM*
  • The modern 1/25 molding way is to have a concave headlight with a clear lens, the kit has a separate reflector that goes on 2 minute lugs behind the clear lens, appearance is great but very fiddly & possibly overkill....lol. *NM*
    • Not really much different then most other kits with clear headlights besides the seprate reflectors as opposed to molded with the grille. Also the pins keep the lenses "clocked" correctly when installed, not in crooked. *NM*
    • They're probably trying to eliminate the use of cement in areas where it would be visible *NM*
