I'd not do it. You are right...currently 3D, no matter the media, is only fair. I do think it will improve greatly...in my lifetime?? The thing 3D does much better is making my model railroad items. Big flat brick structures are a great match for 3D. Thanks!

- I wouldn't depend on the primer to fill anything bigger than sanding scratches. It will shrink, and the styrations that many 3D items have will rear their head *NM*

    - Wouldn't buying a high-end printer solve the problem? Assuming the .stl file was created correctly, a printer with higher resolution will create a smoother part. Back when they were still doing it, I had Shapeways print some parts in "high resolution resin" and
      - A HIGH end resin printer may give a better print Q......
        
        All those things you mention for the resin printer were the reasons I wasn't going to get one. Now I'm intrigued. Thanks for posting about your experiences. *NM*
      - In a word, no. Entry level printers today are as good as premium printers from three years ago. 8K screens, larger printing surfaces, they are all equipped well. The weak point now is the software.
  - There IS a mid- to late '60s Dodge crew cab in resin. Forgot who did it, but it's a nice one
    - Doesn't Jimmy Flintstone do a mid-60's Dodge truck? *NM*
