...I even saw one under the hood of a '75 or '76 Electra 225 at a new-car show (the fan shroud was about as long as the engine). Talk about sending a boy to do a man's job.
One guy I knew had an early Eighties Bonneville "G" (midsize) with the V6. First rebuild was around 40,000 miles. Second came up at 80,000...the car got a small-block Chevy instead. My brother probably converted three or four dozen V6 midsized cars to V8; his way was to use an Olds V8 instead of a Chevy. Easier to find, and more of the V6 stuff could be reused.
