Question for the MOPAR experts. .......... *PICS* .....
Not an expert but my understanding is the MOPAR would do just about anything to sell a car. And if the factory wouldn't the the dealer would. *NM*
I could easily see a dealer adding the stripe to move a car or close a deal.
as is often the case with Mopars, never say never, but to my eye it looks like that is a molding running full length above the
You could order the roof stripe on a Satellite ? *NM*
No, you could not "factory" order the roof stripe on a Satellite. But anyone could have stuck it on there. *NM*
Not an expert, but on first glance that looks like a Satellite Sebring that had a Roadrunner hood and stripe added sometime during its life. *NM*
That was my thought as well. *NM*
Runner may have gotten wrecked, and the good parts swapped onto a Satellite. Kind of like a lot of the GTOs out there *NM*
Lots of Mopar ordering, etc. information at the link. *LINK*
Yes the stripe with the 1/2 vinyl roof is 100% possible. The side/rocker moldings are from a Sport Satellite, as is the black or grey paint. So, this is a customized or modified car. Who knows after 54 years? *NM*
Actually, a "Satellite Sebring Plus" would have the 2-tone and the moldings. *NM*

Bill is 100 % correct... *NM*
Looks like Shaft's Sebring *PIC*
That has the optional hood and trunk stripes that were available on Satellite as well as Roadrunner. Cool. *NM*
Shaft's car was the inspiration for me to build this. .......... *PIC* .....
"Thaaaat Shaft, he's a bad mother..."
VERY nice build! Man- they drove the heck outta that car in that flick!!! *NM*
Scott, which kit did you use to build that? *NM*
I used the MPC 1971 roadrunner. I bought a resin Satellite hood and a resin 1972 rear bumper and taillights. Harts Parts has the 1972 rear bumper and taillights. I forget who had the hood. Maybe Harts Parts again? *NM*
Harts Parts doesn't have the MPC 1971-72 Satellite hood. But he has a Satellite hood for the Revell/Monogram roadrunner/GTX. Maybe you could trim it down ? *NM*
Thanks Scott! Your Satellite looks great! I would like to see Round 2 reissue/clone the MPC '71 or '72 Roadrunner again. Years ago I made a Satellite hood by carefully trimming the Air Grabber bump from the center of the hood and replacing it with flat styrene, leaving
The stripe decals were offered from a decal company that I can't remember the name of. If I remember right, they have been out of business for a number of years. If I can think of the company, I'll let you know. *NM*
That’s fine, Scott! I was just curious. I don’t have the kits and parts necessary to do one of these now, anyway. Thanks again!! *NM*
That there is a 1972 Satellite Sebring Plus. The moulding and silver paint on the lowers are dead giveaways. To my knowledge, the roof stripe…
