I remember that article, as well as the letters from folks trying to find out where to purchase the product in the next issue...
In Response To: Back in the Scale Auto days, in the April issue they would do an April Fool's article. This one was a new product (Clearveiw 2000) that when sprayed on a model the plastic would become clear. LOTS of people fell for it. *NM* ()

.The only SAE April Fools article that "got" me was the HO scale 32 Ford roadster pickup (actually a modified Monogram Big Deuce, pictured with oversize props).

Also of note, the term "air box" originated with an SAE April Fools article..... Ah, the good old days.
