International 4700 firetruck
Way back pre covid I needed a 50’s era dump truck for a diorama I was building. To do this I used the cab and chassis from a Ford diecast firetruck. Where it came from is lost in memory. The dump box came from a DG Productions IH4700 dump truck


The end result was:

Which ended up in the far corner of my gravel pit diorama.
This left me with some leftover bits that have hung around a corner of my model room for years waiting for me to do something with them. During a housekeeping purge I decided the time had come to be creative.

The DG chassis is basically a plate that they screwed all the truck parts to, so it lacks details. I did some cutting and fitting to get the diecast fire body to sit on it.

After raiding my parts box and some paint this is what I came up with:


It turned out to be a decent yard model. From a yard or more away it doesn’t look that bad
