I can only imagine! It would be interesting for kit historians to see from the inside, though! *NM*

I'd imagine the numerous alterations to MPC tooling over the years is a considerable source of migraines to the folks over at Lionel/Round 2 *NM*

The Host has an MPC Dyno Racer Corvette in the built kit section.....
It was a failed gravity track racing series. Probably one of those "seemed like a good idea at the time" things. *NM*
MPC liked to use bodies as many times as possible, as body tooling cost a lot. They tried the idea again in 1970 ("Fast Pack") without the cast metal chassis *NM*
A fragementation kit - put all that inertia into a styrene body and you have a recipe for a very long face on a 10-year-old *NM*
Was it molded from a more resilient mix of plastic? My older brother had one when we were kids and the only thing I remember was the front bumper beak getting pushed in a bit. Maybe my memory is not so accurate, but I don’t recall the body breaking at all. *NM*
It was a bright yellow ‘69 Firebird by the way. *NM*
I think the Dyno Racers were molded in a different plastic. There was a Firebird and a Corvette as I recall...
I seem to recall that the plastic felt different, less brittle and more robust (?) than a regular model kit. So that would make sense.

I have a GP Dyno Racer scored for a pittance that is in White - assumed all the MPC coasters were in the same plastic *NM*
Grand Prix would be Fast Pack, not Dyno Racer *NM*
Yes - was delighted to find it, only to learn one of the roof pillars was smashed... oh well. *NM*
