Depends upon the colour of the car to some extent, IMHO. In this case the black background really makes the white roof pop, and shows the burnt orange as well. The roof almost disappears with the white background. On the other hand, a black or dark car might suffer with

Agree. True black would lose the tires and shadows in the pictures. 10 year old asphalt gray might be a place to start but the car color would also have to be a big part of the decision. *NM*
A light blue background allows the car to stand out as well. *NM*
My dentist explained that with colors (especially light ones) can be altered in appearance or tone by the surface opposite or reflected in them. Ergo, you might want to experiment with a couple different background colors for best result with different builds *NM*

Black is a great background as long as you have good lighting and you have very good lighting, sir. *NM*
Key is to be able to fill with the light so lower details are not lost...
