Or maybe not...

This is a Chevrolet pull truck kit from Adrenaline Junkie models. I did the wheels with Fusion Firm brush-on chrome and let them sit for three days. I didn't touch them anymore than necessary, so the chrome is still bright.

I haven't overcoated them. I experimented with Mr. Color Super Clear III (I've used that before) and the chrome on the sample came out glossy silver. When I used Alcad Aqueous Clear, the chrome dimmed a little but still looked chrome-y. I have noticed that the Fusion Firm clear seems to fade a little if left uncoated. We'll see how it behaves.

My big problem at this point is that I don't know much about racing engines, and I don't have any idea how to detail the blower hat. It's going to look odd sitting up there with no linkage or anything. I'm still looking for good reference photos.
