I actually owned a couple of them back in the mid/late 1990's, when you could buy them used absolutely dirt cheap... Honestly not bad cars for just getting around.

I had an 86 Aries sedan that was a pretty good driver, until one night when it suffered a catastrophic oil pump failure, about 40 miles from home...

It was during a nasty thunderstorm and I was only a couple of miles from my sister's house, so I tried to limp it there... I got within about a 1/4 mile when it gave up and a rod knocked a two cylinder picture window in the left side of the block.

The car had better that 150,000 miles on it when that happened, (about 30,000 that I put on it).... Actually not bad for a car that I'd bought for $200.
